Frequently asked questions
Daily Life at CCNSParent Responsibilities EnrollmentElementary ReadinessExtra-CurricularOther Questions
What are my responsibilities as a co-op parent?
Parent participation is essential to the operation of our school. Parents will work a few times a month in the classroom, attend monthly membership meetings throughout the year and hold a non-classroom job. Non-classroom jobs range from garden maintenance to a position on the board. Families are also asked to participate in fundraisers to help keep our tuition low. We have a family maintenance obligation of 3 hours for the year.
How often would parents work in the classroom?
Approximately one to two times per month, depending on enrollment. On those days, you would need to arrive at 8:30 am – 30 minutes before drop-off time, and stay 15-20 minutes after pick-up time, to complete the working parent check list. Your enrolled child can be with you during that time.
What if I can’t work on the day I am scheduled?
Conflicts can arise during you scheduled workday. All we ask is that you find another parent to work on your scheduled day.
Can I bring my other children with me on a workday?
Siblings cannot be in the classroom with you on your scheduled workdays. Many parents will swap babysitting on their workday.
